Closing Date: 12 July 2023

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to lead a small, dynamic charity team, shaping the future of Children's Cancer North, following its launch in May 2021.

Children's Cancer North is the leading children's cancer charity in the North of England, working to make life better for children with cancer.

We launched in 2021 following the merger of two well-established regional charities (North of England Children's Cancer Research and Children's Cancer Fund) with 40 years of history in childhood cancer research and support.

We work in partnership with Newcastle University - funding research carried out within the Centre for Cancer, a Newcastle University centre of research excellence, and directly supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer.

You will work alongside the charity Trustees to develop and deliver the strategy to ensure the ongoing sustainability, growth and success of Children's Cancer North.

We are looking for someone who can operate confidently at all levels, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

You will be a strong figurehead for the charity and a positive ambassador, leader and role model for staff and volunteers.

We can offer you the unique opportunity to work in a vibrant charity with a compelling cause, while also providing the excellent benefits of working for Newcastle University, including a generous pension scheme, holiday package and health and wellbeing initiatives to support you.

The role is full time, but we are keen to hear from people who may wish to discuss flexible working arrangements.

We can offer a blended approach to home and office working.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

The post is offered on a fixed term basis for a period of 2 years.
