Job Description:


Join ALPADIA's team to make summer 2023 an unbelievable experience We are looking for highly motivated people, who have the ability to engage and inspire young students, and who are looking for an enriching and educational experience themselves.


The position includes ensuring the cooking classes run efficiently and effectively, working closely with the centre team, students and other stakeholders.

Class participants will be no greater than 10 per session with students enrolling for 3 classes per week.


The role of Cooking Teacher is a key one in distinguishing our camps from our competitors, who typically do not offer this option to students.

Premium+ courses are open to all levels; we do not ask any prior skills or knowledge in this area.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Procurement and storage of necessary ingredients and equipment (paid for by Alpadia)
  • Providing clear communication to students throughout the cooking processes
  • Being knowledgeable about food safety and hygiene ensuring a safe cooking environment for students
  • Ensure the safe handling of cooking tools, stoves etc with close supervision and assistance
  • Create engaging, interactive cooking activities and lesson plans that will appeal to teenagers from diverse backgrounds
  • Enthusiastically facilitate the preparation of the required recipes and deliver the nutritional message associated with each one
  • The facilitator should be wellorganised and able to manage multiple tasks at once, such as setting up equipment, preparing ingredients and keeping the kitchen clean
  • Ensure all tuition is appropriate to a summer school environment and in line with ALPADIA's stated mission of focusing on communicative context
  • Represent ALPADIA at all times in the best possible way, being polite and friendly to the students, both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Ensure all related paperwork is kept up to date and completed accurately
  • Arrive at the center, and ensure all lessons start and finish, on time
  • Read, understand and sign any relevant risk assessments as required
  • Liaise with the Camp Manager to resolve any instances of issues/questions/concerns raised by students, agents, parents or other stakeholders.
  • Maintain at all times proper levels of student discipline, safety and welfare, highlighting any issues to the Camp Manager.
