In addition, the appointee will provide Delivery Suite sessions when on call, on a 1 in 7 basis weekdays and 1 in 6 weekend on calls.

Scunthorpe General Hospital and Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital Grimsby are both well-equipped district general hospitals with A&E, Maternity and Obstetrics, Acute Medicine and Acute Surgery (including Orthopaedics) and Adult and Neonatal Intensive care on both sites.

There are well equipped support facilities including a digital radiology PACS system throughout the Trust including MRI and CT at both sites.

Isotope studies are performed at Grimsby including Hologic DEXA scanner.


Basic EMG and nerve conduction studies are done within the Trust as are lung function studies, cardiac catheterisation and pacemaker implants.

Goole District Hospital is a smaller hospital with outpatient facilities, midwife lead maternity unit, a minor injuries unit and in-patient wards for non-acute medicine.

It is also a site which performs day case and in-patient surgical procedures for orthopaedic, general surgery, gynaecology and ophthalmology for a large geographic area.

The hospital has X-ray facilities linked to the Trust PACS system.

There is an Acquired Brain Injury Unit which is run by the ABI charity.
