The role is responsible for AR oversight for risk and controls.Responsibilities:
- Effective oversight for risk and controls for all Appointed Representatives (AR's) and Introducer Authorised Representatives (IAR's)
- Responsibility of helping the Approved Person understand their obligations under the Approved Persons regime
- Complete reviews of AR firms as prescribed through the AR Oversight FCA regime.
- Audit the firms and introducers to test the effectiveness of controls within the business
- Providing a report with a summary of findings and follow up actions with Approved person
- Onboarding of new businesses
- Exit of businesses
- Promptly raise any concerns or areas of risk associated AR Firms
- Complete thematic reviews
- Provide updates and analysis to Head of Supervision, Compliance Director, Chief Risk Officer and the board
- Onboarding of new AR Business.
- Attend initial on boarding meetings
- Undertake gap analysis of joining business from previous network
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding
- Undertake initial meetings within 1 month of new AR joining to support effective systems and controls in place.
- Business Risk Profiler, HUB and supporting risk & compliance systems
- Monitor, update and review
- Share best practice with other colleagues to continually build knowledge and promote consistency
- Analysis of provided tech data to identify areas of risk, to support a riskbased approach to conducting audits.
- Produce risk packs
- Willingness & ability to travel within the field to enable required levels of AR oversight
- Effectively contribute to Team meetings
- Awareness of the T&C scheme, at all levels
- Ensure all relevant regulatory knowledge is kept up to date
- Any other duties as requested by management in line with areas of compliance to meet business needs
- Proactively contribute to the wider compliance teams to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency
- Regular engagement, collaboration with key contacts in the business Skills & Behaviours
- Understand and demonstrate the role of an Approved Person and Key Individual
- Knowledge of the FCA APER requirements
- Ability to communicate at all levels with professionalism and integrity

- Ability and willingness to travel and cover large geographical area if required
- Good report writing skills
CEMAP or equivalent financial services qualification
- Good Microsoft Office Knowledge (Word/Excel)
