We are seeking a Multi-Trade Maintenance Operative to contribute to the smooth running of the School by carrying out a range of multi-trade maintenance duties, emergency repairs and DIY tasks

This role will be responsible for undertaking a wide variety of maintenance tasks across the school.

The role requires independent and collegiate working in order to provide timely work within a safe working environment.

A thorough knowledge of trade roles coupled with strong planning, organisational and communication skills are essential.


You will have an extensive repertoire of skills at your disposal that could have been learned and demonstrated in a similar or transferable setting.

The role requires a good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation to ensure that all work is conducted within this framework and with appropriate risk assessments in place


Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To work within the School maintenance team.
  • To undertake preventative and general maintenance duties including painting, carpentry, plumbing, plaster repair, tiling, gutter and minor roof works, and general building tasks.
  • To lead, assist with or carry out any 'in house' projects.
  • To undertake general maintenance tasks
To maintain tools in a good condition

  • Experience of working in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Good trade knowledge with a minimum of two years' experience.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
Confident, proactive with a helpful and flexible approach

  • Able to work in a clean and tidy manner.
  • Available for call outs
Able to demonstrate initiative and creativity

  • Sufficient physical fitness and dexterity to cope with strenuous work, work at height and in confined spaces.

If you have not lived/worked in the UK for the past 5 years you will need to provide a Police check from the country in which you have been living and working.
