Description

Fixed Term until 12 Months (Initially) - 35 Hours
We have big goals over the next few years.

We're going to be fighting for mental health in a way we never have before.

Together we'll be working to make sure everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve.

Will you join us?
This role builds upon the considerable system development work already achieved in Greater Manchester.

It is a key strategic role supported by Greater Manchester Integrated Care System, National Mind, and accountable to the Greater Manchester Mental Health Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE) Leadership Group.

It provides direct support to and leadership (and representation) for that group.

You will consolidate and strengthen the influence of the VCSE sector in Greater Manchester (including local Minds) in fundamental strategic decisions.

You will operate as a champion and advocate for increased system-wide co-production and shared decision-making, including locality communities, communities of identity, and people with lived experience.

You will be an expert consultant, advocate, and agitator.

You will straddle the Mental Health System Influencing Team at Mind and the Mental Health Unit within the Greater Manchester Integrated Care System, being a fundamental part of both.

You will bring an understanding of life in an Integrated Care System to the former and provide a direct conduit into national positions for the latter.

The role will also ensure that the Greater Manchester Mental Health VCSE Leadership group and associated networks are up to date with current developments and intelligence, enabling greater collaboration and local influence.

We seek an experienced individual who understands the complexities and idiosyncratic nature of the Mental Health System in Greater Manchester and can interpret it in a frank and engaging style.

We seek an impassioned guide who can lead VCSE organisations through the labyrinth of health speak and governance structures and enable them to reach the nirvana of effective points of influence.

If you understand the minutia of the current mental health system at a Greater Manchester level and believe you have the temperament and tenacity to support others to not only engage with it, but to facilitate change within it, then we would like to hear from you.

Closing date:
Thursday 16th February (midday)

Interviews:
Friday 3rd March in Central Manchester.

The post is home-based with fortnightly visits to the Greater Manchester Integrated Care System HQ.

This position is in line with current guidance, the post holders will be expected to be in the office a minimum of two days (or more, depending on the arrangements of your team) but this role will retain some flexibility working from home (hybrid working).

Equality & Diversity
We value the power of diversity. We embrace the different perspectives that each of us bring.

We are creating an inclusive working environment where everyone is appreciated for being authentic and bringing their whole selves to work regardless of race, gender, age, religion, identity and experience.

We are committed to becoming truly anti-racist in everything we do and ensuring that all our employees are treated fairly and equitably at work and promoting equity in physical and mental health for all.
