My client is part of the Public Sector which supports the community in the West Midlands of England.
Description
The key responsibilities of a Purchasing Officer will include, but may not be limited to;
- To maintain an organisational preferred supplier listing
- Ensure appropriate vetting arrangements are in place
- Oversee activity volumes with suppliers and build effective supplier relationships
- To ensure appropriate terms and conditions are in place
- To promote the use of catalogues and purchase orders
- To review all none purchase order activity
- Have oversight of the scheme delegation
- Provide appropriate purchasing management information to managers to support decision making
- Actively work with Commercial Business Partners and Finance Business Partners, by providing relevant purchasing information
- Ability to coach and develop the Purchasing Assistant
Profile
- Background working in Public Sector and Government
- Relevant understanding of supply chain management and purchase ordering system
- Ability to build working relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- To work as a team and independently
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines
- To be enthusiastic and action oriented
