Biddable Media Lead

The UK Marketing function is focused on supporting the strategic and revenue growth priorities of the Bank by delivering fair outcomes for customers.

The function focuses on understanding customers and the identification, development and execution of brand marketing strategies, campaigns and activities that support and strengthen the HSBC brand, support the drive for revenue and increase customer value and satisfaction to meet agreed targets and objectives at market level.


Reporting to the Head of Paid Media, this role is within the Paid Media Team and will focus specifically on driving acquisitions through programmatic activity.

The person in this role would be responsible for collaborating with our partner agencies as well as managing activities directly to get the best return for our media investment.

The role also includes managerial responsibility for one direct report.


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive digital sales growth for all HSBC UK units (HSBC, First Direct, M&S Bank, Commercial Bank), by ensuring channel performance is fully optimised and maximising net income
  • Work with the media agency and Data & Analytics team to create, implement and test tags/pixels tags (i.e. Floodlight, Facebook pixel standard and custom events, etc.) to ensure a robust set up is in place to deliver the foundation to measurement excellence
  • Collaborate with media agency and Data & Analytics team to create, shape and maintain reporting across paid media activities
  • Work closely with Acquisition Managers and Data & Analytics team to influence media plans and roadmap development
  • Advise on evolving existing tech stack, extend media planning to new channels/platforms, implementing new platforms' features
  • Leading on the forecasting and budgeting for HSBC biddable activity
  • Interrogating and continuously optimising campaign performance in partnership with the agency
  • Drive innovation in developing, documenting, and constantly updating best practices for biddable media whilst adhering to best practice guidelines
  • Staying up to date on market trends and developments
  • Work with the wider team to help create a holistic approach to media planning and buying
  • Identify opportunities to build self and team capability using effective leadership skills
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering successful performance marketing campaigns
  • A performance history of effective leadership
  • Handson, proven track record in the programmatic space either agency side or inhouse teams
  • Subject Matter Expert in Google Ads and the Google Marketing Platform, with focus on DV360 and CM360
  • Working knowledge of tagging and tracking principles and best practices
  • Experience in leverage audience segments and 1st party data via Customer Data Platform (direct experience on Tealium Audience Stream a plus)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills: the role requires constant alignment with key stakeholders and the ability to influence decisions
  • Ability to organise, read and extract insights from multiple data sources in addition to strong numeracy skills


This is a full time, permanent role, predominantly based in central London with the flexibility of Hybrid working dependant on business need.
