Well respected company based near Truro, Cornwall are looking to recruit a permanet Senior Manufacturing Design Engineer.Overview
You will lead by example in the Research and Development team to design and develop new and existing company product.
EXPERIENCE
- Experienced Engineer proven track record with the relevant skills. Minimum 5 years working experience.
- Experience managing change through engineering change processes.
- Proven track record designing for manufacture.
- Ideally experienced in metal work design for high volume manufacture.
- PDM data management and processes.
- Experience as a drawing checker.
- Cooperation with suppliers.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Excellent ability and desire to grasp new concepts and ideas.
- Highly proficient in CAD systems, Solidworks would be advantageous.
- The ability to create and check technical drawings.
- Confident in working as part of a team and comfortable in raising concerns or improvements to product development.
- Comprehensive understanding of applied physics.
- A keen eye for detail and a methodical work process.
- Ability to write concise technical reports.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Time management, organisation and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Flexible approach to work and adaptable to change.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the quality of the digital models and drawings of our products, both in terms of precision and document control.
- To carry out and supervise mechanical based analysis, development and design of products and equipment.
- To understand and improve on the current product range designs.
- To assist with supplier management by collaborating with Quality and Manufacturing teams.
- To produce and check CAD drawings, documentation and technical reports.
- Manage the control of Design drawings ensuring rigorous document control practices are maintained.
- To plan out your tasks and communicate your plans with the team.
- To lead and manage projects as well as work within others.
- To design the compan yproducts.
- To report on a monthly basis to Engineeing Manager on project updates.
- To be an agile problem solver.
- To work within the Design process and offer improvement where necessary.
- To manage the requirements of your projects and tasks effectively.
- Direct and supervise the day to day work of a small team of Engineers.
- To mentor junior members of the team and help everyone to learn from your experience.
- To use sound engineering practices including Design for Manufacture & Risk Management
- Ensuring smooth transition from design through to manufacture.
- To communicate with the departments stakeholders.
