As a Distribution Operator, your primary focus will be to provide crucial support for our palletisers, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our distribution processes.

Your role plays a vital part in the overall functioning of our business, contributing directly to the timely delivery of our newspapers and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.


Reporting directly to Distribution Managers, you will work under the direct supervision of Reach staff and Managers, collaborating closely to fulfill daily production requirements and maintain operational excellence.

You will be an integral part of our distribution team, working closely with colleagues to ensure the seamless operation of our distribution processes and meeting production targets.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Operate Forklift Trucks and Pallet Trucks with precision and safety to facilitate the movement of materials and products.
  • Perform hopper feeding of inserts within the Despatch area to ensure continuous production flow.
  • Maintain general housekeeping duties to uphold cleanliness and organization within the distribution environment.
  • Operate and monitor stackers and strappers to secure pallet loads for transportation.
  • Complete daily sheets accurately to record production activities and ensure traceability.
  • Provide support to polybagging lines, fold and stitch lines, and other areas of distribution as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to optimize processes and achieve production targets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate various FLT and Pallet trucks
  • Flexibility to work shifts per production requirements within RPS Saltire areas
  • Good work ethic
  • Team Player
