Deck Rating Apprentice (3)

Through our Deck Rating Apprenticeship you will undertake a fully funded 2-year training programme where you will attend college at UHI Shetland and gain experience on board the NorthLink vessels.

The course will begin September 2023.

Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship, you will gain certification in:

STCW Basic Training
Level 2 Award in Maritime Studies (Watch Rating deck)
Watch Rating Certificate STCW Reg II/
Level 2 Certificate in Maritime Studies (Able Seafarer deck)
PSC&RB
Efficient Deck Hand
Able Seafarer STCW Reg II/5

In your role at sea you will carry out a variety of physical duties, within a supportive team and under the guidance of experienced Officers, to help ensure the smooth sailing of vessel operations.

During your sea time you will be supported by a mentor onboard the vessel to progress through your Merchant Navy training book.
