About The Role:


The purpose of the role is to manage, organise, conduct and monitor Arco's ethical & sustainability compliance through robust governance frameworks, embedded business processes and strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.

The role will also help increase supply chain transparency, identify issues and recommend plans for improvement to deliver a high standard of ethical compliance in Arco's supply chain, therefore ensuring that Arco's position is credible and defensible.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting Arco's ethics and sustainability compliance programme with colleagues, suppliers and customers, liaising closely with colleagues involved in Arco's wider ESG/sustainability programme
  • Managing Arco's ethical and sustainability compliance activities including maintaining the governance frameworks that underpin our compliance, managing the related budgets and acting as a key approved/adviser to the business on ethical and sustainability compliance (including through vendor and product approval processes)
  • Delivering and evolving Arco's ethical trade strategy action plan to safeguard workers in Arco's supply chain and be responsible for preparing Arco's annual Modern Slavery Statement
  • Managing and coordinating Arco's ethical and social audit programme to deliver maximum impact from available budget and resources
  • Analysing audits, providing reports and recommendations to relevant stakeholders and coordinate interventions with suppliers and category management where necessary
  • Managing and developing key external relationships relating to ethical/sustainability compliance and ensuring Arco maintains relevant third party accreditations and memberships (particularly ETI, EcoVadis, Textiles 2030) via audits, recordkeeping, submissions, etc.

About you

The ideal Ethics and Sustainability Compliance Officer will be/have:

  • Excellent knowledge of the ETI Base code and Modern Slavery ActGood social systems audit knowledge
  • Good knowledge of health and Safety pertaining to factory environments
  • Good understanding of wider sustainability issues
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Well developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimum of supervision using own initiative
  • Proven planning and organisational capability with excellent problemsolving skills
  • Track record of clearly understanding and resolving customer requirements
