    Description

    Renal Medicine Consultant Opportunity in Northern Ireland

    We are seeking an experienced Renal Medicine Consultant to undertake a long-term locum contract covering the Acute Renal Service at a hospital in Northern Ireland. This is an ongoing role available until the appointment of a substantive doctor.

    The successful candidate will work within the Renal Unit, providing specialist services including:

    • Home Therapies Dialysis: Providing support and education for patients on Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Haemodialysis.
    • Pre-dialysis Support: Supporting patients approaching renal replacement therapies.
    • Outpatient Support: Providing follow-up care for all treatment modalities, including post-renal transplant patients.

    This opportunity does not involve renal transplant work.

    Responsibilities and Requirements

    The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and experience in Renal Medicine, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team is essential.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Providing high-quality patient care and management in the Renal Unit.
    • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
    • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Medicine or equivalent qualification.
    • Completion of Specialist Training in Renal Medicine.
    • Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).

    Please note that this is a long-term locum contract, and the selected candidate will be required to commit to the duration of the contract.
