We are looking for an experienced platform engineer to bring expertise and knowledge to our current digital platform team.

Our platform is underpinned by the OpenShift container product with F5 as an ADC running on the bank's VMware platform.

In this roleyou will help to support and develop our digital platform as well as upskilling our people.

Insatiable curiosity will inspire you to learn and develop on the go as our technologies change.

This is a collaborative role working alongside the wider Platform Engineering and Customer Banking Services teams to deliver project and strategic goals as wellas support the platform day to day.

You will be willing to join our 24 x 7 on call rota.

Here's what you'll be doing...

  • Function as an SME for the banks digital Application Delivery Controller capability (F5 Big-IP).
  • Developing, supporting and maintaining the bank's Operational Platform (OpenShift, VMware).
  • Prioritising multiple activities in a rapidly changing environment while making time for delivering service improvements.
  • Engineering, validating, implementing and quality assuring technical solutions.
  • Supporting our services through the proactive identification of risk and swift resolution of issues.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide excellent customer service.

To be successful you'll need to bring

  • Experience with BIG-IP LTM, BIG-IP DNS, BIG-IP ASM and excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills in these areas.
  • A good understanding and experience of networking, VLANS, vSphere and general traffic management concepts.
  • Strong UNIX or LINUX skills.
  • Coding skills whether it be: Java, Python, or any other scripting language.
  • Familiarity with a container platform technology and awareness of docker.
  • Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools and ways of working.
  • Proven track record of ability to engineer and deliver technology change to challenging deadlines.
  • An innovative and "can do" approach; a selfstarter who takes the initiative and always knows what's next on the list to improve service.
  • A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders.
  • Good problemsolving skills.
  • Exceptional communication & teamwork skills.

  • Working within large multiplatform environments.
  • With orchestration & automation of BIG-IP (F5).
  • Leading transformational change in a technology context.
  • With the Redhat Openshift platform.
  • In our toolchain : Docker, GIT version control and Github usage (including direct API access), Jenkins, GoCD, Bash.
  • Working in multidisciplinary agile teams.
