£84 per day

Are you looking to make a positive impact on a child's life? Then look no further I am working with a Primary School in the Portslade/Aldrington area, who require a kind Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one with a child that has epilepsy.

If you have worked in care, as a personal assistant, in schools, or in any role that has supported children or young adults with additional needs, I want to hear from you

Role Overview:
You will spend you day supporting and assisting this child within the classroom and around the school. Ensuring their safety and helping them achieve with their work and foster a love for education. Support and training will be provided on how to manage their epilepsy.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide tailored support to this child around the school and within the class room.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SEN team to assist with set work.
  • Bring a passion and love for education.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their emotional wellbeing, selfesteem, and sense of belonging within the school community.
  • Monitor progress and behaviour, providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, proactively managing challenging behaviours that may occur in the classroom and promoting positive behaviour management strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Previous experience working with primary school, preferably in an educational setting. (desirable)
  • Or, experience working with children or young adults with additional needs. (desirable)
  • A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young children with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a compassionate and nurturing approach to supporting primary school students with SEND.
  • An understanding of SENDrelated issues and strategies for supporting primary school students with a range of needs (e.g., autism, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties).
