Empowering Learning are supporting an independent provider of specialist education, who support children and young people aged 7 to 19 years with special educational needs and disabilities typically associated with autism, social emotional and mental healthneeds and associated disorders.

They are seeking to appoint an Executive Headteacher on a permanent basis on a permanent basis from January 2023.

The successful person will work from their central office in South London and will be required to travel regularlyto the various school sites and education provisions across London.


You will have substantial and relevant experience at Headship, Head of School or Head of Education level, with previous responsibility for integrated education, health and care provision.

Direct relevant experience with children with Special EducationalNeeds, preferably SEMH and ASC and an understanding of working within an urban environment with culturally diverse communities.


As the Executive Headteacher, you will model and uphold the philosophy of the group by addressing the complex needs of the children and young people, as well as ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, driving the quality of education, leadershipand management within all their schools and services, working alongside and in partnership with the Director for Children and Family Services.

Ensure outstanding Pupil Outcomes through high-quality delivery against individual Education, Health & Care Plans(EHCP) and be accountable for the performance management of Headteachers and Heads of Service, provide the necessary leadership and management support to enable them to develop and make sure schools / services are ready for any stakeholder visits includingOfsted, Local Authority and Governors.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and promoting the Group's vision internally and externally
  • Building high expectations by promoting a shared culture of selfreflection and personal development for all our pupils, young people and staff, to continuously develop life and leadership skills.
  • Ensuring staff create a safe, calm, orderly and positive environment
  • Work alongside the Director of People on the provision of all professional development
  • Continual development of the quality of therapeutic pedagogy of all staff directly involved with teaching and learning.
  • Ensuring pupil's and young people's educational outcomes meet or exceed expectations as written in their EHCPs
  • Improving and embedding the school evaluation and assessment processes for teaching and learning.
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Children & Family Services, holding joint responsibility for developing quality standards of provision and implementing these and other key linked improvement initiatives within each school and service.
  • Provide tailored support and challenge to Headteachers / Head of Service based on agreed priorities within school development plans.
  • Ensure each school and service is appropriately Ofsted Ready and lead each school and service through external accreditations where appropriate.
  • Work strategically with the Board of Directors and Board of Governors to deliver the annual Excellence Programme in order for the company to deliver high quality services to our pupils and young people.
  • Lead the Headteachers and Heads of Services in developing and articulating strategic and operational plans for a fully integrated Education, Clinical and Inclusion provision.
  • Develop the business strategy of individual schools and services including, the management of staff and financial resources and be accountable for integrated curriculum financial planning.
  • Work with the Company Business Manager to ensure adherence to all relevant quality standards, and ensure compliance with ISS regulations, health and safety policy, GDPR, budgets
  • Be accountable for all schools and services reporting to the Board of Directors and Board of Governors.

Salary offered:
£87,000 - £96,000
