About this client/child:

Andrew is a smiley, energetic, and cheerful 7-year-old with a zest for life.

He loves getting out and about, playing on his iPad, and cuddling with his two cats Andrew lives at home with his Mum, Dad, and younger sibling.

Andrew has Cerebral Palsy and isreliant on others to meet his health, care, and medical needs.

He strives for his independence and has worked very hard on his rehabilitation and therapy goals; he is mobile and uses walking aids and to support his verbal communication Andrew uses Eye Gaze.


Overview of role:

The night carer shift will start at 8.00 pm and there is an established night-time routine in place.

Your role will be to support Andrew with his bedtime routine and help settle him off into a good night's sleep; generally, you will be able to sleep for themajority of the night and if Andrew needs support (drink, personal care, etc.) you will be alerted via a video monitor.

In the morning you will support Andrew with getting ready for a busy day at school. The role is Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and this isa permanent long-term position.
