Job Summary (primary role)


The Warehouse Operative's primary role is the efficient, safe and effective storage and distribution of all goods parts, and products.


The Warehouse Operative is accountable and responsible to the Departmental Manager for the delivery of the duties and responsibilities associated with this appointment.


The key duties include:

  • Ensure all received goods are visually checked to determine receipt of the correct parts, quantity and condition.
  • Ensure that all materials and parts are located, recorded and updated as necessary to enable easy access and identification of stock items at all times.
  • Assist with the housekeeping rota by maintaining a tidy environment and performing rolling stock checks to maintain standards.
  • Occasional requirement to operate a semiautomated bandsaw to prepare bar lengths for manufacturing.
  • Ensure maintenance of stock item data in Sage such as bin locations, issues and receipts etc.
  • Ensure stock rotation on a First In First Out Basis.
  • Ensure that all stores/supply documentation related to allocated work and schedules is completed in a timely manner, clearly and concisely.
  • Arrange for the provision of all requested parts, raw materials and products to the assembly and engineering areas, in accordance with instructions and/or the works orders raised and issued.
  • Ensure the correct goods & quantities are sent to the customer with the correct paperwork.
  • Processing of customer returns.
  • Occasionally driving the company van for local supplier deliveries and/or collections.
  • Encourage good working practice and adherence to paperwork systems to maintain ISO 9001 quality & Health and Safety standards and ensure correct implementation
  • Cultivate good working relationships with other departmental personnel to promote the efficient working of the business.
  • To perform any reasonable request from the Management Team
