Financial Controller

Full time permanent role

Mon - Fri 40 hours per week

Burgess Hill based - Free parking on site for staff. Close to nearest railway station and other public transport links


Salary:
£60000-£65000 plus good staff benefits


We are delighted to be working alongside our superb and very successful client who are seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their business on a full time permanent basis.

Initially responsible for two direct reports but this could grow as thisbusiness is very successful and is growing quick

The role:


The Financial Controller will take the responsibility for the financial reporting, statutory accounts, board reporting, balance sheet control and cash forecasting.

This person will be innovative and forwarding thinking, looking at systems and process toimprove efficiency's. The role will provide strategic financial guidance/support to ensure the growth and profitability of the business.


Duties / Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing the day to day financial operations, ensuring the group maintains a strong financial control environment

Creating & monitoring company policies & internal controls, especially cost controls, to safeguard company assets

Mentoring & managing the finance team

Review of monthly Management information pack for operational review & Board meetings

Identifying efficiency's & opportunities for cost reduction across the business, conduct annual supplier reviews

Monitoring & balancing cash flows into & out of the business to meet obligations & optimise investment

Creating annual budget & quarterly forecast & present to the Board for approval

Monitor financial targets and budgets in accordance with the strategy determined by the Board

Review & update pricing strategy & ensure pricing matrices are established for each product line

Provide financial reporting & analysis to guide decision-making

Develop commercial processes/information to support departments

Identify opportunities/risks through financial reports and recommend further courses of action

Review & authorise monthly payroll submission

Review quarterly VAT reconciliations & declarations

Review / write tender submission documents

Review commercial/legal documents & advise of potential conflicts of interest, additional risk to the business

Responsible for managing banking relationships

Assists the CEO & Finance Director with producing long term business plans

Liaise with appointed external accountants during year end statutory accounts preparation and corporation tax return

Undertake competitor analysis & review market trends annually
