Are you looking for a new challenge in your career? Are you an outstanding, committed and motivated Learning Disability Nurse?

A unique opening has arisen to join the Learning Disabilities Service within SHSC Trust. The Modern Matron will be a key member of the Clinical Management Team, providing nursing leadership across the service.

In this role your expertise will be the driving force for change to ensure high quality of care and delivery of health and well-being outcomes for adults with learning disabilities and their families.

We provide specialist high-quality, integrated community, mental health, and learning disability services across Sheffield and are looking for someone who really shares our values, and is committed to helping improve the lives of the people we support.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the nursing team as the service embarks on a programme of transformational change, working with multiple outside agencies to improve the service we offer for specialist healthcare and support for adults with a learning disability, and their families.

This includes people with a diagnosed learning disability who may also have other complex needs, eg. autism.

If you are driven by a passion to make a positive difference - we want to hear from you.

The Modern Matron will be accountable for developing a culture of clinical improvement, leading by example and empowering nurses to improve the care and well being of service users in their clinical area.

This means being known and visible to staff, visiting teams regularly and being familiar with the service users, their needs and the challenges faced by staff.

The Modern Matron holds accountability for Trust-Wide nursing initiatives, such as Infection Control, Physical Health and Workforce health and safety.

The Trust views the Modern Matron as a clinical leader who exercises great influence over junior staff and has the attributes to promote a culture which nurtures practice excellence and development for all those in nursing related roles.
