Job summary:


This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a recruitment background looking to join an established team or an HR professional with a good understanding of recruitment looking to move into a specialist role.


In this role, you'll have the chance to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the designated business areas you will support.

You'll work closely with them to understand their current and future requirements and will use various mechanisms to recruit the best talent the market has to offer.

In doing so, you'll directly contribute to some of the most important and exciting deliverables across Government.


Job description:


You will work in a fast-growing, constantly changing environment where you own the end-to-end hiring process for vacancies commissioned from your business areas.

Core activities are likely to include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Shaping and influencing an overarching resourcing plan, including the design of assessment and selection processes for your allocated business areas with reference to key strategic priorities;
  • Use and evaluate recruitment efficiency data to advise on and influence resourcing decisions;
  • Developing and owning the delivery of the resourcing plans for your allocated business areas, identifying and mitigating any resourcing risks/shortfalls;
  • Contributing to the department's brand and attraction strategy, thinking creatively about how vacancies are marketed;
  • Coaching and influencing hiring managers on diversity and inclusion practices throughout the recruitment life cycle;
  • Collaborating closely with HR Business partners to contribute specialist knowledge to ensure the delivery of key workforce planning objectives, driving performance and ultimately supporting the achievement of business goals;
  • Using exceptional communication skills to develop relationships and a sense of credibility quickly with senior stakeholders;

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fastpaced team environment, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate with confidence and influence decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels, maintaining productive working relationships.
  • A proactive approach and a focus on continuous improvement of self and service, with an appetite to work with others to simplify processes and increase efficiency.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and think strategically to feed into wider resourcing plans.
  • Commitment to delivering a highquality service to customers, with high levels of professionalism.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience in a recruitment or HR role.
  • CIPD qualification and membership.
