  • We have a great fulltime opportunity for a technical professional to join our Food Safety team as the Raw Material Assistant at our Head Office in Maidenhead (Hybrid).
  • As a key member of the Food Safety Team and working for the Raw Material Technologist, you will primarily be responsible for liaising with suppliers to obtain raw material/thirdparty product information used by Allied Bakeries, maintained on our bespoke Hamilton Grant Database, to assure our, our Customer and Consumer food safety, nutritional, legislative, and ethical standards are met.

Working with our procurement and NPD teams, part of your role will be the coordination of medium & high-risk suppliers and contractor approvals via Appraisal Questionnaires.

You will further approve low-risk SAQ's for Allied Bakeries existing and new supply chains.
Where required deputise for the Raw Material Technologist in raw material and supplier related meetings.

Key Accountabilities:


  • We are looking to recruit a diligent and enthusiastic team member to join our team.

The Keys accountabilities of this role are:

  • Maintenance of Raw Material Specifications
  • Onboarding of new raw materials
  • Maintenance of a Supplier Approval programme covering Raw Materials, Packaging, Third Party and Contractors

The Right Person:


Skills, qualifications, and experience:


  • Degree / equivalent in Food Science/Nutrition or related discipline.
  • Have experience of Raw Material and Final Product Specification completion
  • Knowledge of Hamilton Grant or other recipe/specification management systems
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills and experienced in the manipulation of technical data.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising accuracy and attention to detail is crucial.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
  • Awareness of Sedex Database
  • Driving license (sometimes it's easier to see the supplier and talk through issues)
