What will you be responsible for?
Develop and grow Supplier Relationship Management Programme, strengthen UKAEA's work with strategic suppliers and delivery partners. Lead UKAEA's Contract Management development programme.

Qualifications:


Essential skills, experience and competence required

  • Segment suppliers according to key criteria and determine those to be involved in the programme.
  • Develop a programme to implement SRM, including a communications strategy, stakeholder management plans implementation timeline and management reporting.
  • Lead initial workshops with stakeholders and suppliers to determine mutual benefits and ways of working
  • Work with the Cabinet Office and BEIS' Partner Organisations to ensure a suitable approach that is consistent across government but also tailored to BEIS needs and aims.
  • Upskill and support UKAEA policy and delivery teams to become relationship leads within the programme
  • Lead regular meetings with suppliers to discuss and review supplier performance and drive innovation
  • Utilise effective stakeholder management to ensure buy in with the programme at senior levels
  • Identify strategic opportunities, such as: quality of service; efficiency and cost savings, value for money; end to end integrated supply chain between Department & Delivery Partner; innovation and best practice transfer.
  • Support gathering supplier information such as business continuity planning, conformance to regulations and supplier declarations
  • Influencing and driving partner transformational change whilst demonstrating commercial leadership.
  • Develop strong internal stakeholder relationships across multiple BEIS directorates and at varying levels of seniority, building a deep knowledge of the Supplier's portfolio across BEIS
  • Communicates effectively, building team commitment, strong morale and strong working relationships.
  • Addresses and resolves conflict directly and constructively within the team and customers, including Senior Managers and stakeholders.
  • Develop and Implements contract management processes to ensure measurable performance against the requirements throughout the contract life cycle. Working closely with the UKAEA Contract Management Transformation Director.
  • Coordinate efforts at all levels with other units of the organisation to ensure alignment of objectives and outcomes.
  • Has the skills, knowledge and experience to understand, influence, drive and negotiate with internal and external customers.
  • Supporting control of procurement costs within agreed budgets.

Desirable skills, experience and competence

  • Degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant expertise and experience to act as the lead expert for Supplier Relationship Management and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Dynamic and inspirational leader
  • Ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders and confidently provide advice, guidance and constructive challenge when necessary, with regular reporting.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to create clear project plans and governance
  • Have excellent organisational skills and be able to balance multiple priorities/projects, whilst ensuring that key customers and stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Previous experience of the full commercial lifecycle and experience of working within public sector.
  • High quality written, oral and presentation skills and the ability to communicate with confidence and impact.
  • Adaptable and able to respond to changing priorities.
  • Strong IT skills, with experience of using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and/or industry equivalents and the Google Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with project management products such as: highlight reports, risk and issue logs etc. Mentoring and development of team members Where required, the provision of support to training programmes provided by the department.
