We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at Purbeck and Swanage Connect as a Senior Care & Community Services Officer.
You will be expected to work within Care Dorset's Community Care Strategy for Residential and Day Care Services to provide a wide range of support and opportunities to maintain and promote the independence and quality of life for service users.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager/Deputy Manager, and other senior staff as appropriate, in the provision and development of care services for the relevant service user group.
- Assist in the management of staff, buildings and budgets, in accordance with directorate policies and procedures.
- Deputise for the Manager/Deputy Manager as required.
- Undertake effective and efficient assessment of service users including risk assessment, the development of care/support plans and ensuring that these are implemented and monitored.
- Approval of care plans.
- Undertake formal supervision, including Performance Development reviews, of staff/team members.
- Development of individual and group programmes to meet specific objectives as appropriate.
- Appropriate qualification
- NVQ level 3 or above.
- Significant knowledge of risk assessment process.
- Significant knowledge of care planning process obtained in a similar or related setting.
- Ability to lead and manage team members.
- Ability to plan, organise and monitor own work.

As you will be working with vulnerable adults and/or have access to significant information about them if you are successful, you will be required to undergo a DBS check.
This role is UK based and we will need to establish your Right to Work as part of the appointment process.
