Artega is a joint venture between Challenger Limited and SimCorp to provide investment administration services to the market._

  • Artega is a technology led investment administration business offering front, middle and back office services to investment managers and asset owners in Australia and Asia. The business currently supports over $100Bn for its clients and has 140 staff located in Sydney and London. The business utilises the SimCorp Dimension software as its core technology platform._

Role Purpose:


Market Operations support the Challenger Life, CIP and Fidante funds management businesses across a wide range of financial products ensuring that trades are confirmed with our counterparts, instructed to custodians, and settled in a timely manner.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the timely matching, confirmation, and settlement of a wide range of products including but not limited to Fixed Income, Equities, Futures & Options, Derivatives and Repos.
  • Collateral Management for Variation and Regulatory Initial margin calls utilising AcadiaSoft.
  • Confirmation and settlement of future cash flows associated with the different products.
  • Investigation and resolution of failed trades and cash breaks.
  • Key liaison for custodians, dealers, brokers, and front office in relation to booking and settlement issues.
  • Setting up securities static in the operations system (Dimension).
  • Relationship management; build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; build working relationships with custodial teams, brokers, and counterparties.
  • Assess current processes with a view to making changes to increase efficiency, reduce risk and improve delivery to stakeholders.
  • Active participation in intrateam cross training and up skilling.
  • Work on assigned projects relating to the wider Market Operations team.
  • Group inbox management ensure adhoc queries from internal and external clients are answered within required timeframe.
  • Work closely with our Market Operations team in Sydney, fostering a culture of strong communication and collaboration between the two teams.

Role Requirements:

  • Understanding of Financial Markets and the role of different participants within the market
  • Knowledge of how the funds management business works and the flow of funds
  • Good understanding of financial instruments and their settlement lifecycle
  • Understanding of the market settlement process for fixed interest, equities and exchange traded derivatives
  • Understanding of Collateral Management for both Variation and Regulatory Initial Margin
  • As applicable to the role, a working knowledge of the corporate regulatory environment, governance principles, corporate accountability and conduct frameworks and the process for managing risks
  • At least 2 years' experience working in the finance/funds management industry with exposure to settlements of various products
