    Description

    Digital Preservation of Audio Heritage

    The British Library's Unlocking Our Sound Heritage project aims to digitally preserve almost half a million rare and unique recordings from the Library's collections.

    As a Preservation Audio Engineer, you will be responsible for digitising sound recordings held on endangered media, such as ¼" open reel tape and cassette, and creating metadata relating to the transfer process.

    You will have strong knowledge of obsolete sound carriers and current digital formats, familiarity with audio recording, playback, and transfer technologies, and demonstrable experience of professional audio archival work.

    This post is part of a Heritage Lottery Funded project.
