Job Description:

To manufacture and repair fixtures gauges, machine parts, and, 'tools in support of the manufacturing operations within the company.

Key Responsibilities

Determine appropriate manufacturing sequence and processes. Manufacture fixtures and gauges in accordance with engineering drawings, sketches, and models prepared by MechE department, using conventional and CNC machines.
Draw material and tools from store.
Assemble fixtures and gauges from machined detail components.
Repair fixtures, gauges, and tools as required.
Correct and modify sub contracted components.
Inspect completed fixtures and deliver to store.
Inspect gauges and deliver to quality control on completion.
Enter data and time on department computer record system and maintain progress records as required.
Carry out other duties compatible with this job and employee's individual skill as required by management.
Create and modify programs from first principles using Mastercam/Inventor.
Create and modify programs from first principles using CNC machine controller.
Create 3d Models using Inventor.

Job Requirements

Liaise with the design team to correct drawing errors and add modifications.
Recommend design for manufacture changes.
Sequence of machining operations and the selection of materials and processes, heat treatment etc.
Reverse engineering of components.
Organise Heat Treatment of components
Ordering of spares, tooling and standard parts
Machining of complex tools to drawings provided by Engineering.
Planning of own work method to achieve quality product on time.
Relevant ONC or HNC in mechanical/production engineering
Abrasive wheel certificate
Manual Handling Certificate
Time Served Apprenticeship
Manufacture of fixtures and gauges for the aerospace industry.
Problem solving
Ability to plan ahead to make most efficient use of equipment and machinery
Basic IT knowledge
