Greenspace Information for Greater London CIC (GiGL) is recruiting a Community & Volunteer
Officer to join our team and help deliver our vision of London's natural environment being
appreciated, understood, considered, and improved. If you have a passion for data and London's
natural environment, and believe that decision-making based on good quality information is

This role is an opportunity for the right person to gain experience in the varied remit of a
local environmental records centre and our work as a social enterprise in the capital. The post
is a full time position.

You will work to improve the availability of good quality species data within London,
through direct engagement with data providers and an active online presence. Communication
skills will be key to engage with stakeholders involved with nature and environmental data,
from collection through to use.

You will also be responsible for coordinating the ongoing Volunteer Program, including
recruitment, maintenance, and development of the program across the whole of GiGL.

You will collaborate with the whole Team to carry out the work of a local environmental records
centre and the delivery of GiGL's strategic plan.

reliable, you will possess good communication skills and have a keen eye for detail. An
understanding of the importance of responsible data handling and data standards is essential.
An understanding of the functions of a local environmental records centre and experience of
working with biological data is an advantage.
