SENIOR PLANNING MANAGER

ASHFORD (OMNI WORKING)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Role Overview


The Global Cosmetics Planning Hub manages supply of 500M+ units of global brand cosmetics (Max Factor, Rimmel, Covergirl, Sally Hansen, Bourjois, Manhattan) to 45 global markets via a network of 27 DCs.

Senior Planning Managers are accountable to deliver the Global Supply KPI's (Service, Cost, Cash) for Colour Cosmetics.

They each own a portion of Global Cosmetics Planning scope, which is broken into the following Senior Planning Manager role types:

Operational Planning of In-House Factories including initiative planning, production scheduling, material call off, deployment and capacity planning:

  • Operational Planning of EXO including initiative planning, call off, deployment and capacity planning
  • Deployment planning across the network of global DCs and availability management in partnership with global markets
  • Inventory focussed improvement, linked to the company S&OP cycle
  • Strategic supplier management (capacity/performance/responsiveness)
  • Process Excellence and Master Data
This role profile covers the "In House" role, shown in bold. There are multiple "In House" roles covering particular production sites and technologies, also know as a "Value Stream".


Key Success Measures

  • Service delivering the Customer Fill Rate targets for each BU globally.


  • Inventory

  • Manage inventory performance ($M, DOH) to target


  • NPD Launches

  • New product launches on time in full, to in country warehouse date


  • Organisation

  • Support delivering headcount targets for own team


  • Cost savings

  • Partner with suppliers, production sites, physical distribution to drive out cost


  • VAR/E&O

  • Drive the work to minimise VAR (Value at Risk) and Excess & Obsolete inventory generation.


  • Projects

  • Responsibility to deliver planning elements of any Supply Chain Project


  • Master Data

  • Ensure creation and maintenance of MD elements on time and quality.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

Planning Technical:

Lead the team in the following process areas across the full end to end supply chain:

  • Initiative Planning
  • Planning readiness to launch new products to markets.


  • Material Supply

  • Working with suppliers to ensure materials arrive on time. Operational supplier management (on time, in full).
  • Production Planning working with remote plants, creating their production plans and ensuring capacity.


  • Deployment

  • Ensuring the right products get to the right distribution centres.


  • Master Data

  • Creating new Supply Chain Master Data or correcting errors.


  • Supply Chain Performance

  • Deliver annual glide paths and action plans to deliver the corporate objectives for continuous improvement in Inventory and Fill Rate.

Develop the team:


  • Lead the development of skills and competencies from new start to experienced planner
  • Provide direct reports with meaningful review of performance during annual appraisal process, with continuous touch points throughout year
  • Set team goals and standards of performance in line with wider organisational vision and KPIs
  • Engage the team, retain and develop talent ongoing to ensure the right people are in the right roles

Continuous improvement

  • Lead the development and improvement of processes and tools using analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Set a culture of continuous improvement by challenging and encouraging team to develop their ideas/ways of working
  • Lead the team through change by setting the right tone and approach with regular direction setting
  • Work with Planning Hub Directors and HR team to regularly review people strategy and organisation design for the Value Stream.

Project management

  • Translate the Hub vision into both short
- and long-range action plans for the Value Stream to ensure KPIs and deliverables are successfully executed

  • Active involvement and leadership of Supply Chain projects such as Supply Network Design/Change; New supplers, New Software Tools.
  • Engage partners throughout the supply chain to ensure aligned direction and collaborative working relationships
