A leading multi-discipline contractor based in Glasgow is looking to source an experienced Design Manager to join their growing building division.

With a long-standing presence in the Scottish market, our client boasts a UK wide turnover of circa £100m andhas an impressive portfolio of high-profile projects and repeat clients.


As Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role within their technical team, taking responsibility for developing technical specifications and managing the design process from tender stage to handover.


The role requires you to work on new build design and construct contracts across public and private sectors, offering a range of challenges to showcase both your technical and managerial abilities.


As Design Manager you should:

  • Have a proven capability in managing the design development from tender concept to detailed design for delivery within a main contracting environment.
  • Be confident in leading technical meetings with clients, thirdparty stakeholders and design partners.
  • Have a good level of contractual awareness and understanding of commercial reporting implications relating to designs.
  • Have a strong technical background with the ability to review design information and identify both value management and risk elements as appropriate.
  • Have a good working understanding of BREEAM.
