The Resourcing Team are responsible for ensuring we attract, recruit and retain a diverse range of skills within the business in order to drive and deliver our organisational objectives.

Within the team we have sub teams all with a distinct purpose and strategic aim.

Our GDS Recruitment Team manages the recruitment of employees across GDS partnering with individual areas of the business to fill specialist and high volume vacancies.

The Technical Recruiter is a key role that offers a direct route to market for sourcing permanent staff.


Job description:


To ensure success as the Technical Recruiter, you should have excellent interpersonal skills, a natural talent for negotiating, and the ability to make quick decisions.

As a Technical Recruiter you'll:

  • Work alongside the resourcing partners to understand the hiring managers' recruitment needs.
  • Maintain consultative relationships with hiring managers and the resourcing partners. Ensure you are communicating and updating regularly.
  • Make recommendations to hiring managers and utilise your understanding and awareness of the market to advise managers and recruitment business partners accordingly.
  • Help develop talent pipelines across GDS, particularly for our regularly recruited roles.
  • Support the resourcing team at busy times and be willing to support end to end recruitment campaigns.
  • Create engaging adverts on our social platforms and our applicant tracking system to make our jobs and projects visible to those we want to attract
  • To identify, plan and attend relevant events and networking groups to ensure both the maximum exposure of the GDS brand and return on investment.
- work closely with the wider GDS recruitment team, to prioritise tasks and campaigns as well as developing strategic initiatives.

  • Support resourcing partners with creating, managing and delivering recruitment related reports for business areas and professions.
- act as a credible expert and ambassador for recruitment across GDS business areas and professions, ensuring excellent customer service to both our internal and external customers.

  • Working with the resourcing partners to capture, analyse and identify internal/external trends, opportunities. Providing regular market insight to resourcing partners to ensure constructive resourcing strategies. Highlighting any risks to the resourcing partners and mitigating any issues or if necessary escalating to relevant parties.

Person specification:


We're interested in people who have:

  • demonstrable experience of delivering an Internal recruitment service within a fast paced, matrix management organisation
- thorough understanding of technology, technical roles and technical skills
- excellent organisational skills
- strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain remote relationships
- strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to push back and challenge when necessary
- ability to prioritise workload and work at pace with a high attention to detail
- creating, managing and reporting data to identify trends and blockers and resolve them.
