Description

FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 4 Technical Instructor (TI) to join our Occupational Therapy department at the North London Forensic Service (NLFS).

The role will be working with service users detained under The Mental Health Act, 1983 (amended 2007), many of whom suffer from a severe and enduring mental illness and who have recently been discharged from hospital but remain under the support services of the forensic mental health community team.

The post holder will be required at times to work autonomously within the CHOICES Community Hub to carry out interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist.

The post holder will be organised, efficient and self-motivated, able to use their own initiative whilst also being able to take direction.

Interventions will focus on functional daily living skills and specific mental health and risk issues.

This will include planning and facilitating a range of therapeutic individual and group work as delegated by an Occupational Therapist and contributing to multidisciplinary team care planning and risk assessment.

The role is to support independence, acquiring the appropriate life skills, as well as providing therapeutic, recreational and leisure opportunities that may contribute to recovery and support a meaningful life and routine.

The North London Forensic Service is an OUTSTANDING service as rated by the CQC. We are an ever growing, innovative service who pride ourselves on being service user led. We champion experts by experience and have a department dedicated to this alone.

The occupational therapy team is a large department and has ever expanding opportunities for learning and career development.
