The program is formed by specific secondment-style modules of 3 months each (anaesthetics, Intensive care medicine, acute medicine, and paediatrics) alternated with 9 months of emergency medicine each year to acquire relevant competences needed to work on a consultant level in the UK.

A dedicated study CESR day (8 hours) is assigned once a month.

The trainees will also be provided with simulation teaching and opportunities to develop their teaching skills and work towards resuscitation courses instructor status.

The successful applicants, will be working at a level of senior decision making clinician in ED (ST4 +) according to their previous experience,

Northampton is a rapidly growing County town.

It has a fascinating blend of rich heritage, distinguished history and all the energy and vigour you would expect of one of the fastest growing, modern, commercial towns in the UK.

The county is part of a designated government growth area, which will see significant development and consequent population growth over the next 25 years.

The population of the town is predicted to increase by more than 50,000 people by 2021 so we will always be kept busy

If you like sports, Northampton has successful Rugby Union and County Cricket Teams and a slightly less successful Football team.

For theatre and film aficionados, considerable investment is being made into a new shopping park just outside of Northampton, housing the county's only iMax cinema, and there is an "arts" cinema situated in the town centre, which is associated with the renowned Royal and Derngate Theatre.

If all that still isn't enough for you, Northampton is an hour's journey by train or road from London and our house prices are also considerably cheaper

These posts are eligible for doctors currently working at middle grade level in Emergency Medicine who are registered with the GMC and have a current licence to practice in the UK.

They are not national training posts and do not come with a national training number or result in a CCT.

The contract will be reviewed annually and extended on a mutually agreed basis, based on successful completion of required competencies at annual review.
