Job overview:


This is an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Senior Safeguarding Adult Practitioner to join the Safeguarding Team within Cornwall Foundation Trust.

The postholder will be working alongside other Safeguarding practitioners and with partner agencies to help improve safeguarding outcomes for adults at risk of abuse and neglect.


This is a 12 month fixed term post.


You would be expected to support and advise colleagues in relation to safeguarding concerns, ensuring the promotion of best practice within adult safeguarding and compliance with relevant legal frameworks.

The role is primarily based at Impact Building at Truro.

The post holder will provide efficient, visible and effective adult Safeguarding Services, and will ensure patients and staff have access to, and receive, timely and high quality information, advice and signposting in relation to safeguarding concerns.


If you are passionate about safeguarding, achieving the best care and outcomes for patients of the trust, and have relevant experience in managing complex safeguarding cases or from a registered nursing or social work background, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job:


  • Plan and provide supervision, support, training and advice and act as a source of specialist knowledge in matters relating to safeguarding adults, predominantly responsible for acute and community adult services.
  • Work in allocated areas under the direction of the senior safeguarding team
  • Develop partnership working with statutory and voluntary organisations to aid communication and provide better outcomes for adults and families.
  • Ensure robust communication takes place minimising risks to the adults, families, and the organisation.
  • To be available and accessible to frontline staff and safeguarding colleagues, both within the safeguarding office and within care environments.
  • To line manage the safeguarding adult practitioner and the safeguarding assistant practitioner.
