Description

The post holder will establish and maintain an effective clinical educational environment within PICU that supports staff in the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care to infants, children, young people and their families.

They will deliver programmes of training and education that facilitate the on-going professional development for all levels of nursing and non-registered clinical workforce.

The post holder will act as an expert resource and demonstrate clinical expertise in the delivery of intensive care.

They will be expected to maintain a clinical profile and work within the clinical environment supporting and developing staff clinical service need.

The post holder will ensure education is delivered to support the national KPI for Paediatric Intensive Care.

The post holder will also participate in the following courses to support development of staff:
Educational Programme for clinical support workers and Nurse Associates, in collaboration with the Education and Development Team,

Foundation Course in PICU

Specialist course in PICU

Induction days

Pre
- registration nurse placement induction

Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) and PILS Recert

BLS Resus Link Worker training

Assessor and Supervisor training

Personal Development Review (PDR) awareness training
