Our marketing and engagement team looks after a range of activities including the production of collateral and patient information, public and stakeholder engagement (which includes volunteers and Foundation Trust members) and branding and design.
We are looking for a marketing and engagement officer to join our busy and friendly team and in particular to support the production and update of patient information across the Trust.
To complement the skill set of the existing team, excellent organisational skills and a strong background in copy writing, proof reading and the production of written materials would be desirable.
Applicants must have qualifications/experience to post graduate diploma level and be able to demonstrate expertise in delivering marketing and engagement activities.
This role offers hybrid working with a combination of agreed office days and working from home.
This is a full-time permanent role with excellent benefits including contributory pension, 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays and learning and development opportunities.
We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.
We provide radiotherapy through one of the largest radiotherapy departments in the world; chemotherapy on site and through 14 other hospitals; highly specialist surgery for complex and rare cancer; and a wide range of support and diagnostic services.
We are also an international leader in research, with world first breakthroughs for over 100 years. We run one of the largest early clinical trial units in Europe with over 300 trials every year.Cancer research in Manchester, most of which is undertaken on the Christie site, has been officially ranked the best in the UK.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Marketing and Engagement Manager in delivering the Trust's marketing and engagement objectives
Be accountable for own attitude and demonstrate the Trust values (Make a Difference, Act with Kindness, and Connect with People) and behaviours (We are courageous and try new ideas; We are honest and take responsibility; We care for each other and our environment; We show appreciation and celebrate success; We are inclusive; and We work together as one team)
Maintain an effective corporate brand style and Christie identity, ensuring that all marketing materials produced are to a consistent and high standard and meet both NHS guidelines and The Christie's corporate identity requirements
Plan and deliver events and activities as required. These will include public and stakeholder engagement events, as well as providing support in other areas of the division when requested
Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative, well targeted, high quality marketing initiatives that support The Christie in its corporate objectives
Write, edit, and proofread high quality and effective copy as required to support the delivery of the marketing objectives
Commission a range of marketing services to deliver marketing objectives. This will include managing and building relationships with external agencies specialising in design, market research, events, exhibitions etc
To manage individual project budgets effectively, ensuring value for money at all times
Work closely with colleagues to ensure marketing activity is integrated effectively across the corporate development division
To provide guidance and advice to managers and other staff on all aspects of the NHS and The Christie's corporate identity, in order to maintain and protect it
Develop effective partnership working with colleagues across the organisation to ensure integrated marketing activity
Responsible for working with partner organisations and stakeholders as required, to deliver agreed objectives whilst maintaining The Christie position and safeguarding the brand
To research evidence of good practice from other areas / sectors. To keep informed with the latest developments and good practice in social marketing and healthcare communication
To identify and attend relevant marketing and engagement related courses / conferences
To supervise paid staff or volunteers recruited to assist with the above tasks to ensure they are adequately briefed and encouraged
To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post to help with the spreading of the workload and smooth running of the department
