VACANCY
Due to the increased demand within the department, we have a vacancy for a Dispenser.

This exciting and permanent post will enable you to become an integral and valued part of a friendly, supportive and efficient team.

You will be dedicated to providing an excellent, efficient and empathetic service to our patients.

Duties will include working against Standard Operating Procedures, processing prescriptions and dispensing medications, preparing blister packs, ordering mediation and consumables, receiving stock, answering the telephone, administration, liaising with healthcare professionals and relaying accurate messages, whilst ensuring confidentiality is upheld at all times.


Experience working within a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment is desirable, but not essential, as support and training will be provided.

You will be required to undertake an NVQ in Dispensing as part of this role.

  • Monday to Friday, shifts between 8:00 am —6:30pm on a rota basis

PERSON SPECIFICATION - DESIRABLE/ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Desirable

  • Experience of dispensing/pharmacy and/or dispensing qualifications
  • Experience of working within the healthcare sector
  • Experience of working within a customer service environment, providing an excellent and efficient service
  • Welsh Speaker

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate that you can provide a polite, empathetic and friendly service to patients
  • Sensitivity and discretion when dealing with confidential information
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to take and relay accurate messages
  • Able to accept responsibility and possess the ability to use own initiative and be proactive in dealing with all enquiries.
  • Ability to follow instruction and work to agreed objectives and protocols
  • Ability to work as a proactive, enthusiastic member of the team and liaise with colleagues and outside organisations accordingly.
  • Adaptable and be able to work well under pressure, with a calm and flexible approach to undertaking a wide variety of tasks
  • Be a reliable, helpful, willing team member and maintaining a positive attitude
  • Committed to continuing professional development and completion of NVQ in Dispensing.
  • Ability to be flexible and offer relief cover in times of sickness and annual leave.
