Compliance Officer; The Insurance Octopus

Location:
Sale, Manchester


Role Profile (The purpose of the role)To quality assess and score all sales activity, ensuring compliance regulation is adhered to in
every step of the sales process. Thereafter, to provide feedback, guidance and
recommendations for improvement where required.


Responsibilities of the role (What we want you to do)

  • Review sales calls to ensure they have met all compliance requirements
  • Report on potential areas of compliance vulnerability, risk and conflicts of interest
  • Recommend improvements to processes to mitigate areas of shortfall
  • Conduct colleague compliance assessment to ensure FCA and TIO awareness
  • Provide support to sales colleagues to ensure compliance to correct TIO processes
  • Utilise performance data to identify challenges, trends and improvement opportunities
  • Develop an expert level knowledge of TIO's systems, processes, products and services
  • Act as an interdepartmental liaison point for compliance process improvement
  • Create excellent working relationships across the TIO and Verastar community.

Success Measures (What success in the role looks like).

  • Produce all reports accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Achieve all objectives agreed with the Compliance and Training Manager
  • Produce assessment results to TIO formats and standards
  • Conduct all activity within TIO quality guidelines and FCA compliance rules.

Experience (What you need to have already done to be right for this role)

  • Previous experience in a compliance or quality assurance role
  • Insurance industry knowledge, preferred, but not essential
  • A good level of understanding of B2B sales processes
  • Computer literate with experience of sales CRM, systems, preferred but not essential

Skills (The personal capabilities needed to excel in this role)

  • High level of attention to detail and organisation, with a sense of ownership, pride and
responsibility for the accuracy of own work

  • Good written and verbal communications skills, with an ability to adapt communication
styles to suite individual consultants and team managers

  • A genuine interest in own development and learning needs, with the energy and desire to
act on them to improve own performance

  • A professional and pleasant demeanour, with the desire to create good working
relationships with colleagues, customers and commercial partners.


Qualifications and other requirements

  • Location: Within commuting distance of office location, essential
  • I.T. literate, knowledge of the effective use of Microsoft (Word, Excel PowerPoint)
