Job Purpose

The postholder is responsible for the implementation and delivery of a suite of employer engagement opportunities, ensuring an excellent end to end experience for students, with an expanding employer portfolio in support of university strategies to improve student employability and experience.

Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a wide range of external partners supporting the Employer Engagement team to meet agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and administer processes, procedures and systems to support delivery of employer engagement activities. Act as an escalation point for Administrators in Employer Engagement team resolving complex issues and providing specialist advice.
  • Build and maintain effective mutually beneficial relationships from the initial employer enquiry to proactively seeking feedback from key stakeholder groups including students, employers and academic staff. Share best practice and support and inform the smooth delivery and continuous improvement of employer and student experience.
  • Ensure that operational employer engagement activities and events comply with all relevant health and safety procedures, regulations and legislation, including completing Risk Assessments and ensure that participants comply with said arrangements.
  • Work with the Communications Manager to design promotional campaigns to employers using a range of marketing platforms including social media, industry-specific forums and relevant networking events and liaising with employers and other stakeholders on targeted sessions.
  • Contribute to reports and documents for internal stakeholders by collating and analysing data and using this to recognise trends, draw conclusions and make recommendations for future service delivery.
  • Represent the university at networking and stakeholder events to generate new business connections.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships and proactively seek feedback from key stakeholder groups including employers, students and staff to share best practice and support and inform the smooth delivery and continuous improvement of employer
engagement and the student experience.

  • Work closely with other members of the Careers, Employability & Opportunity team in the delivery of the above and undertake any other relevant and appropriate duties as directed by the Employer Engagement Manager or Head of Employer Engagement.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

A1 Either:
ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through personal development and progression in a similar role(s)


Or:

Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.

A2 Knowledge of the graduate labour market and issues surrounding the employability of students.


Desirable
B1 Knowledge of MyCampus and Qlikview systems.


Skills

Essential

C1 Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to use own initiative, exercise independent judgement, work under pressure, prioritise own workload and meet tight deadlines.

C2 Effective communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written, to interact and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

C4 Ability to understand market trends and industry changes to support team goals.
C5 Solutions focused with business process improvement.


Experience

Essential
E1 Relevant experience in a customer-focused environment, preferably including working within employer engagement.
E2 Experience of working as part of a team and co-operating with people across organisational boundaries.
E4 Experience of supporting the achievement of targets set for business development purposes.
E5 Experience of analysing/evaluating/interpreting data to inform decision-making and service improvements.
E6 Experience of presentation at events.


Desirable
F1 Experience of coordinating income/sponsorship agreements, and an understanding of financial management procedures.


Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 6, £32,332 - £36,024 per annum.

This post is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term until 31 July 2025 in the first instance.
