Part Time (32.5hrs per week)

Mon - Fri (back shifts, 1:30pm - 8pm)

Rate Of Pay:
£11.16 per hour + Company Benefits

Her at Serco we are looking for Ward Housekeepers to join our growing team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The Larbert hospital has 860 in patient beds based on one site. The site is approximately 95,000sqm. The wards are generally 32 bed most with 50% single rooms. The Housekeeper will provide direction and guidance to the domestic staff within their own area. They will normally have no more than 3 domestics to direct over a shift.

In this role you will be responsible for your designated area including giving instruction to domestic staff. You will liaise with patients and clinical staff in the performance of their duties and will provide a range of services for the patients whilst maintaining hygiene standards within the domestic and catering environment


Main Accountabilities:


  • Responsible for delivery of housekeeping, cleaning, catering and customer services to an agreed standard within agreed clinical areas and departments.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with agreed Method Statements.
  • Effective communication with all levels of staff.
  • Complying with the Board's policies on Health & Safety, COSHH and other statutory legislation.
  • Advise helpdesk on any defects within own area.
  • Provide direction and assist the domestic assistants within the area.
  • Serve patient beverages
  • Serve patient meals
  • Clear and clean area after meals
  • Ensure kitchen/servery areas and all associated equipment are clean and tidy at all times.
  • Stack and empty dishwasher
  • Movement/distribution of clean linen supplies to wards
  • Movement of soiled linen and waste from dirty utility to the linen chute.
  • Order of goods and materials as necessary from Team leaders
  • Maintain records as required
  • Assist with staff appraisals.
  • Undertake cleaning tasks as required to maintain service delivery.
