Land Entry Officer - Bath, United Kingdom - Wessex Water
Description
Are you a confident communicator and organised? Do you have the necessary interpersonal skills to interact with our customers and colleagues? If so, we have a great opportunity for you as a Land Entry Officer.
Working within the Compliance and Group Services area of our business, you will liaise with our in-house Engineering teams, landowners and occupiers throughout all stages of our work on private land.
The work includes the exercise of our statutory powers, negotiation and recording of agreements for entry to land and settling associated compensation claims.
What you'll do:
The successful applicant will report to the Land Entry Manager and provide support to all areas of the business to facilitate access to land and act as a single point of liaison for landowners and occupiers affected by our works.
You will:
- provide technical advice and assistance to all areas of the business relating to land entry and ensure our statutory powers of entry are exercised appropriately and in accordance with best practice
- attend site meetings with landowners, occupiers and their professional representatives to discuss how our works will affect their land and agree on appropriate accommodation or mitigation measures to reduce the impact upon them
- negotiate and agree on the entry and occupation of land where the use of statutory land entry powers are not appropriate
- agree on compensation claims arising from our works.
What you'll need:
You will have excellent negotiation and customer care skills, ideally with previous experience agreeing land rights, wayleaves and basic compensation settlements.
As a good relationship manager, you should have the ability to coordinate others while remaining calm under pressure.
You should be a strong team player, who has previous experience working in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
You will also need a full UK driving licence.
