This company are a busy house builder who seek to appoint a Senior Development Engineer to work across a number of housing developments throughout the North West region.
The Role - Senior Development EngineerThe main purpose of the role is to control and co-ordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments.
Role and responsibilities" Ensure all approvals are obtained and information received issued to allow for a programmed start on site.
" Work with Land Department to ensure smooth transition of information.
" Prepare site viability reports in line with current regulatory requirements for residential development
" Check all drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitability.
" Liaise with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met.
" Attend site visits and meetings in order to solve issues that arise during the constructions process.
" Attend design meetings with the highways and planners to ascertain requirements from a council perspective for new developments.
" Work on tenders and pre-start engineering documentation and oversee viability
" Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required.
" Procure Site Investigation Information.
" Provide provisional assessment of abnormal design requirements.
" Monitor progress of the adoption of roads, sewers and public open space areas.
" Pursue the reduction and release of outstanding Bonds at the earliest opportunity.
" Assist the Engineering Manager to obtain fee quotations from specialist Consultants for all engineering design and technical report requirements.
" Provide technical and administrative support to the site teams.
" Obtain all required technical approvals in line with programmed site start dates.
To be considered for this position you will need to have the following:
" HNC or above in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
" Worked in a similar position in a design or engineering discipline
" Track record in delivering building control approvals
" Strong architectural knowledge with house types
" Experience of managing external consultants
" Demonstrate background in preparing schedules of work
" Keen eye for detail and ability to process technical information
" Good internal and external stakeholder management
" Comfortable using engineering related software like AutoCAD, PDS and Microdrainage
" A strong negotiator with proven experience in gaining consent on complex technical approvals
