Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage departmental performance against targets and budgets
  • Initiate and oversee regular engineer meetings: reporting outstanding works, performance
- in previous month and future developments and workload

  • Facilities management, conduct regular monitoring and maintenance of current electrical, plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment
  • Manage, delegate and action Maintenance Request Forms in a timely manner to satisfy Production requirements
  • Maintain and update Equipment Maintenance Database and Machine Maintenance Record Card Index System
  • Develop Planning Preventative maintenance system for all machines
  • Assist in the development of a system for the cleaning, repair and maintenance of all equipment
  • Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM)
  • Ensure PAT Testing is carried out and records are maintained according to legislative requirements
  • Maintain the Fire Alarm and Security systems, ensuring all fire doors are in good working order and secure
  • Develop programme of works for maintenance of grounds and buildings (refurbishment & decoration)
  • Assist with the Asset Management of machinery and equipment
  • Ensure continued ISO 9001:2008 compliance by maintaining Machinery Maintenance Scheduling and the Calibration System
  • Management and timely update of the Measuring Equipment Register and Equipment Calibration system
  • Assist in the development of Health & Safety systems to initiate regular training in Fire evacuation, fire extinguishes, manual handling etc
  • Partake in regular Health & Safety meetings
  • Ensure the safety of the building from fire, flood and other hazards
  • Assist with Fire & Machinery Risk Assessments
  • Manage the Maintenance team in order to maximise performance, morale and motivation
  • Leadership and delegation of tasks to the Maintenance team
  • Recruitment and training of new Maintenance Engineers

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and lead a team of subordinates
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Good people management skills
  • Good time management skills
