An opportunity has arisen within the School of Nursing for a registered nurse (Learning Disability) to join our highly committed School of Nursing as an indefinite, full time Lecturer.


Nursing and Trainee Nursing Associate programmes are delivered at a number of sites, including Preston, Burnley and Westlakes, and both as traditional degree programmes and also as apprenticeships.

Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and be educated to at least degree level. A master's degree and a postgraduate teaching qualification is desirable.

Utilising planning and organisational skills, communication and interpersonal skills the successful applicants will be able to work both independently and collaboratively.


Contemporary knowledge of learning disabilities practise is essential, supported by teaching experience, and you will have a keen interest in developments in the field.

Experience of practise supervision and assessment of student nurses in practice is required.

You'll be committed to the success of your pre-registration nursing and post-registration students and be able to show that you can effectively support learning and teaching in both the classroom and in practice.
