This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated workforce that will provide rapid COVID & Flu testing.
These posts have been created to provide a dedicated team that will test samples for COVID & Flu testing using small rapid test analysers.
This will enable us to support patient flow through the hospital and provide staff testing to ensure patient safety whilst enabling staff to get back to work.
Full training will be given and there are many transferable skills that will be gained for future laboratory roles so these are a brilliant opportunity for those interested in a career in Pathology.
These posts are funded for 6 months but that may be extended. Other laboratory opportunities may also arise.
We are seeking to add to our team of staff for the Grimsby hospital sites.
- Work without direct supervision, guided by Standard Operating Procedures and good
required.
- Understand a range of work procedures and practices some non-routine based requiring formal
- Plan and organise straightforward tasks.
- Receipt of specimens, sample identification and numbering including initial investigation of
- Initial preparation of samples for processing, including use of centrifuges where appropriate.
- Entry of patient & specimen data onto laboratory data systems.
- Filing of laboratory requests.
- Filing of completed samples.
- To assist with the processing of various diagnostic specimens under the supervision of a
- Secondary preparation and processing of samples for referral to other laboratories.
