About the role


Reporting to the Group EHS Manager you will work as a member of the EHS Central Management team, supporting business unit site management teams in the delivery of the group level environmental objectives and targets.

You will also support maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications along with company wide business objectives.

The role will be based at North Scarle with remote working and with travel to other Noble Foods sites as required as part of your role.


Main responsibilities for Environmental Advisor

  • Assist Group EHS Manager in coordinating, managing and communicating all environmental, health & safety systems and procedures to meet the requirements of ISO 14001 and 4500
  • Assist Senior Leadership team / operational management and business unit EHS Managers and H&S representatives / coordinators to own and implement ISO 14001 and 45001, legal requirements and best practice.
  • Review any new legislation and guidance advising managers on their impact.
  • Help promote group environmental objectives, targets and initiatives in line with our purpose to "better nourish people, animals and planet"
  • Assist with the effective close out of audit and inspection findings with all EHS Managers and Senior site management teams when actions
  • Schedule external EHS compliance audits and assist where required in the absence of the business unit EHS Manager.
  • Assist the Group EHS Manager with the annual Environmental Permit reporting, Pollution Inventory and Climate Change Agreements.
  • Ensuring collation of all utility data into carbon desktop providing accurate tracking of performance against climate change agreements.
  • Assist with the delivery of Noble Foods Net Zero aspirations, tracking projects and ensuring we progress is made with our reduction pathway.

Person - Environmental Advisor

  • Qualified to a degree level or equivalent in an appropriate environmental discipline.
  • Have a good understanding and keen interest in environmental and sustainability issues.
  • Experience of delivering environmental and sustainability projects and/or environmental compliance within previous roles.
  • Membership of a professional body such as IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment)
  • Previous audit experience desirable, minimum accredited Internal Auditor course (2 days) preferable.
  • Previous experience on multisite operational role (where appropriate), although food manufacturing, distribution or agricultural experience would be an advantage.
  • The role will require occasional nights away from home (and travel, so a Company car will be provided)
