Doppelmayr Cable Car is a supplier and operator of cable propelled people movers within the urban environments across the world.
The Air-Rail Link is a cable car system based at Birmingham Airport, which transports 5 million passengers a year between the Airport and the Railway station.
Job description
The Technical Operator is responsible for the daily inspections, preventive, corrective and failure maintenance, and operation of the system. The position also involves, monitoring system operation and maintenance. Able to perform, troubleshooting tasks, such as identifying alarms and resetting faults. Addressing passengers if required. Able to operate trains and perform evacuations. Keep operational and maintenance logs.
- Perform daily preventive and corrective maintenance on all components.
- Diagnose mechanical/electrical problems and repair or replace mechanical/electrical components as necessary.
- Participate in the daily upkeep of the system and maintenance facilities.
- Follow all Companyissued maintenance procedures and directives to ensure that all preventative and corrective maintenance are performed safely and in compliance with manufacturers' specifications and applicable industry standards.
- Monitor the APM system and CCTV system during operation.
- Performs troubleshooting using the SCADA system, such as identifying alarms and resetting faults.
- Follow all Company and Clientissued operational protocols to ensure safety of all passengers and O&M personnel.
- Makes announcements and address passengers during normal operations.
- Assist in emergency evacuation procedures.
- Maintain daily maintenance and operational logs and reports.
Requirements:
- Fast thinking to react quickly and appropriately to situations.
- Learning the policies and operating procedures, and the processes to follow in abnormal or emergency situations.
- Computer literate.
- Maintaining and preparing accurate records and completing brief forms and reports clearly and accurately.
- Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to adopt a "handson" approach to solve mechanical/electrical problems.

In addition
- Shift pattern rotational Early and Late shifts Monday-Friday.
- 2year contract.
