A permanent vacancy has arisen for a Pension Officer within the Employment Services Division in NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership.

The post holder will be part of a team responsible for the provisiion of a comprehensive pension service to the employees of NHS Wales.


It will be necessary at times to work on a self managed basis to ensure a consistent high level of performance delivery in a confidential, accountable and customer focused manner.

The successful post holder must have experience of working in a busy Pension or Payroll Office together with the ability to investigate, analyse and process information and resolve technical enquiries.

The post involves agile working with regular attendance in the office.


Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive pensions service to all employees of NHS Organisations contracted to NWSSP through a Service Level Agreement.


Responsible for the provision of advice to managers and staff on all aspects of the NHS Pension Scheme and pension provision.

Ensure that all requests are handled efficiently and effectively and that Pension Scheme Regulations and policies are complied with.

Work with the Pensions Manager and Pension Supervisors to ensure the effective running of the team.


Work closely with colleagues across Workforce and the other functions within NWSSP to promote joint approaches to solving service issues.

Build and maintain links with other colleagues within Trusts and other organisations in order to share best practice.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
