We are looking for a dynamic, passionate Head of Department to develop and lead our increasingly
popular Design and Technology provision. Outcomes in Design and Technology are above the national average and consistently some of the strongest in the school. The department is made up of four teachers and two full time technicians.
We have an extensive and well-resourced specialist faculty with a full workshop including 2 laser cutters, 2 centre lathes, 3 3D printers, a CNC miller and a CNC router.
The department has its own computer room and each workshop has a class set of laptops. We are currently in the process of setting up a second workshop due to demand.The department delivers Design and Technology from KS3 through to Sixth Form. At KS3 students have 2 lessons a fortnight.
At KS4 we have 5 groups opting for either OCR Engineering or Edexcel Product Design with routes into the Sixth Form mirroring KS4.
We also run a very popular A Level Product Design program.
Every classroom has new Smart screen boards and visualisers, and they form a key part of our teaching and learning strategy.
We have an extensive whole school CPD program including weekly training for all staff to support department and whole school development.
We take staff wellbeing seriously and can offer you many staff benefits including a Friday staff Breakfast (and onsite gym to help work them off), a positive work atmosphere and a supportive environment to develop.
We also pride ourselves on being a team, all staff are involved with supporting our students whilst onsite and we encourage all staff to enjoy the many activities and clubs we have on offer for both staff (Badminton, football and Dungeons & dragons amongst others) and students (DofE, Moseley Plus, Police Cadets amongst others).

Moseley School and Sixth Form is a large comprehensive secondary school with a thriving sixth form. Moseley School first opened its doors in 1923. We value our long history whilst being excited about our future.
There are 1450 students, 170 teaching and support staff, excellent facilities housed in a grade two listed building, a modern building which opened in 2012 and a recently completed sports complex and extensive grounds.
