Career Grade Planner (Policy) / Planning Policy Assistant

Grade 4 to 7, £22,369 up to £38,296 per annum pro rata, dependant on experience

37 hours per week on a permanent contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Planning professional to strengthen our talented and dedicated Planning Policy team.

You will become part of a highly motivated professional team who are committed to delivering quality place-based strategy and excellent customer service.


This is a career graded post so whether you are starting out in your career and want to gain experience of planning policy or someone looking to further their career this role could be right for you.

We will also support you as you gain experience allowing you to progress through the career grades.


The successful applicant will have an important role on key aspects of the borough's next Local Plan, helping to shape the future of the borough at local and strategic level.

With the level of planned future growth and investment, you will be involved in a broad range of planning and regeneration projects, with a focus of this post on monitoring residential and employment development and monitoring biodiversity net gain in accordance with new legislation.

The borough offers a wide range of rural planning issues and neighbourhood planning is a key priority.


Hinckley and Bosworth are an attractive area to work, and the role will be hybrid working, with days working from home and days working from the modern offices at the Hinckley Hub.

The borough is made up of the main town of Hinckley, with development interest in the settlements of Earl Shilton, Barwell, Market Bosworth and Burbage and the wider rural villages across the borough.
